Recently, our brother, Seth Huteson (487), was recognized as our national office’s philanthropist of the year at our 30th anniversary celebration. Here’s what HQ had to say about him.
“Seth Huteson, Eta Rho (Texas State), is the 2026 recipient of the Thomas Sayre Philanthropist of the Year Award.
As a refounding father of the Eta Rho Chapter, Huteson helped build a culture of service from the ground up. He became the first brother from the rechartered chapter to attend an Ability Camp. After attending Ability Camp, he set out to make service part of Eta Rho’s identity. Through his leadership as philanthropy chairman and later archon, Huteson helped the chapter raise more than $20,000 for The Ability Experience, established partnerships with Miracle League San Antonio and Bobcat RISE, two local organizations that serve the disability community, and recruited 21 brothers to attend an Ability Camp alongside him. Continuing to lead by example, he became the first brother from the rechartered Eta Rho Chapter to cycle the Journey of Hope as a member of the 2025 TransAmerica team. He has also joined the 2026 Ability Camp Honduras team, where he will help build a clinic in Comayagua, Honduras, that will expand access to care for people with disabilities and their families. Huteson’s dedication to The Ability Experience has helped shape the Eta Rho Chapter and created a foundation of service that will influence brothers for years to come.”
